Joint Projects
We have a track record of participating in externally funded projects, for example supported by European Union, or CERN Knowledge Transfer and other types of funds.
Current
- SYCLOPS
Through ROOT, we participate in this EU Project, that aims to advancing AI/data mining for extremely large and diverse data for Europe and beyond, by democratizing its acceleration through open standards and a healthy, competitive, and innovating ecosystem.

HighLO aims to identify malicious trading behavior such as market manipulation, to better protect markets. ROOT participates in this project, putting to a good use the data analysis and visualisation skills in the team.

Past
- AIDA 2020
We contributed to the WP2 work package, which is about developing common software tools. Thanks to this project, the USolids and DD4Hep packages were created!

Financed ANR and the consortium is made of INRIA/AriC, UPMC/LIP6, LIRMM and CERN
This project addressed the implementation of elementary functions such as exponential or trigonometric. Indeed, the standard mathematical library (LibM) offers a small set of such functions in a small set of precisions. Performance of LibM functions is of critical importance, in particular in scientific and financial computing. Therefore, they have always received special attention. For instance, processor manufacturers have teams of engineers who implement an optimized LibM for each new processor, a time-consuming and error-prone task. A first objective of this project was to automate libm development, up to the point where libms autogenerated for a wide range of targets: general-purpose processors, embedded processors, graphical processing units, and even FPGA and digital circuits.
